@adhd_coffee The tip i learned in grad school when I had to get through dense reading lists quickly:First/last sentences of paragraphs. (Treat a paragraph like a mini essay, with a thesis and conclusion.)Sentences in the middle with words that signal a shift in or deepening of an idea/argument: however; moreover; Conversely; Nonetheless; Nevertheless, etc. Summarize these notes in margins or your notes. Then go back and read citations. I found that this helped cement concepts.I still use this technique when I need to digest complex large pieces of writing (like briefs, legal memos, policy reports, a lawyer's email....)
