@benroyce @blogdiva My congressional district has been solidly Dem probably since FDR, which means the most significant contest is the Dem primary. If you don't tune in til a few weeks before the general election, you've missed the whole deal. In other districts, the GOP primary is the whole game. The *most* important thing, though, is that "the Democrats" doesn't exist. There are 50 state Democratic Parties, plus territories, plus Dems Abroad. The Democratic Party is what you make it.

As a Californian, I am beating my head against the wall right now. We seem completely screwed. Who thought one big primary for both parties sounded like a good idea???
