question: wasn't villaraigosa with the woman who is now Bezos wife? i judge men by their currents and exes. that’s why Newsom was a NOPE before all the horrible fuckery i learned about him.

@blogdiva @jrconlin @haineux Though if god forbid we get a Gavin vs Don Jr election it would make for a pretty hilariously personal aspect to the campaign

        cannot say this enough:

Tom Steyer is running as a democrat in California to sabotage the other Democratic Party candidates, especially Katie Porter.

        she would veto this legislation.

DO NOT TRUST THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY ESTABLISHMENT.

the #California primaries are a referendum on #billionaires #techbros and ultimately, the kind of corporatist #fascism that passes for centrism in this country.

BILLIONAIRES ARE THE ENEMY. don't let Steyer hand California to the fascists.

          your auntifa liza 🇵🇷 🦛 🦦 (@blogdiva@mastodon.social)

today's #AltTxt #AltText #yaddayadda isn’t about California but it is totally about the race for the job of #California governor. ❝ IMAGINE HAVING ENOUGH MONEY TO END WORLD HUNGER BUT INSTEAD YOU FOCUS ON ENDING DEMOCRACY SO YOUR TAXES WON'T GO UP. BILLIONAIRES ARE AN ABOMINATION ❞ so, remember, don't let the fascist-lite democrats throw the elections to the billionaires: 🗣 VOTE IN THE PRIMARIES don't let Steyer, Ellison, Bezos, Musk take control of California.

@haineux you might also get good info from calmatters.org but I'm not sure about that for the gubernatorial race. I have in the past found their assessments really valuable for the legislative races @blogdiva @jrconlin

@blogdiva His ads immediately let me know he’s trouble. Arrogant and egotistical. He will promote some stuff that I support, sure, but I will not support him. He strides noisily to the front of the room and demands attention, but the smart people, we see Steyer is just another power-hungry psychopath.

                        Honestly? I'm not sure either.

I live in San Jose and Mahan is out. (Sorry, he kinda reeks of Tech Bro, and uses AI to write speeches, which, you know, is kind of a big part of the job)
Villaraigosa - See wikipedia (so, yeah, no)
Porter - Pro: Actually pays attention to things. Con: lots of enemies because of Pro.
Becerra - Pro: fairly successful in cases against the current administration, albeit with his staff embezzling $225K from him at one point. Con: ACAB, not sure what he's like without a clear opponent.
I honestly don't know much about Thurmond or Yee, which makes them appealing because they're boring.

I'm very much interested in other folk's opinions, though.

@benroyce @blogdiva My congressional district has been solidly Dem probably since FDR, which means the most significant contest is the Dem primary. If you don't tune in til a few weeks before the general election, you've missed the whole deal. In other districts, the GOP primary is the whole game. The *most* important thing, though, is that "the Democrats" doesn't exist. There are 50 state Democratic Parties, plus territories, plus Dems Abroad. The Democratic Party is what you make it.

                                      cannot say this enough:

Tom Steyer is running as a democrat in California to sabotage the other Democratic Party candidates, especially Katie Porter.

                                      she would veto this legislation.

DO NOT TRUST THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY ESTABLISHMENT.

the #California primaries are a referendum on #billionaires #techbros and ultimately, the kind of corporatist #fascism that passes for centrism in this country.

BILLIONAIRES ARE THE ENEMY. don't let Steyer hand California to the fascists.

@blogdiva What information shows that Katie Porter would veto this?

As a Californian, I am beating my head against the wall right now. We seem completely screwed. Who thought one big primary for both parties sounded like a good idea??? 😱
