25 years ago we were all listening to Ms. Jackson over and over again. Whether we wanted to, or not.

It topped the Billboard hot 100 on Feb 17 2001 after being on the charts for over three months.

@User47 Not me; I didn't really appreciate grunge/"alternative" when it first came out, so I broke away from popular music unusually early for a GenXer.

I went from classic rock stations starting around 1990, to CDs, to MP3s (Limewire!), to Pandora.

So while I do listen to a lot of stuff that's come out in the last 35 years, generally it's ambient chillout and Pacific reggae that most people wouldn't know.

You might even say I was a hipster before it was cool. πŸ˜†
