@Natanox @frameworkcomputer Again? My 12th gen 13" has removable RAM. I think you're mixing up the desktop mainboards with the laptops.
@alerque @frameworkcomputer I indeed was talking about their products in general.

@frameworkcomputer Bah! Whats the point it upgradable systems if you come out with overhauls this big? I want one but my current FW13 already fits my use case.
What part would I have to upgrade to get the battery life?
-
@frameworkcomputer 20 hours on Windows 11 but how much in Ubuntu?
@bladecoder @frameworkcomputer Going to answer on my own personal account. It's very good. The Ubuntu experience is absolutely shocking and I am a Fedora-based user myself.
I would say it is WELL within the ballpark. I will say I can use my battery all day and not think about it at all into the night. It is a great machine, honestly.

@rubdos @tshirtman @frameworkcomputer That's my understanding! I'm probably going for a full upgrade, i need a bit more processing power than my current 13. But yeah, Framework is such a cool company!
@oven They have a bottom upgrade kit https://frame.work/be/en/products/laptop13pro-bottom-cover-upgrade-kit and a chassis kit https://frame.work/be/en/products/framework-laptop-13-pro-chassis-kit-silver depending on how far you want to push your upgrade. I'm still very happy with my 7840U today, so I'll hold out a bit until the RAM gets reasonable again.

@frameworkcomputer @YvanDaSilva too bad we’d need to be in the same tent as the others to enjoy this…
Thanks, but no thanks.

@frameworkcomputer I really really wanted a framework desktop, but after you keep doubling down on supporting far right people I got an equivalent machine from a different brand.

What part would I have to upgrade to get the battery life?
The new battery, the new bottom chassis to hold the new battery, and the new Intel motherboard. All those will give you the extended battery life.
-
Yes, they have a video on it.

@frameworkcomputer You're doing a great job! I've had my 13" amd version for 2+ years and never had a single issue. Seeing how the company grows, continues releasing new products while keeping upgradeability in mind is impressive! -

What part would I have to upgrade to get the battery life?
@alerque @frameworkcomputer To add what the other person said, just to get the upgraded battery you'd need to upgrade the bottom case and input, which they're going to sell as a kit eventually. And obviously the new battery itself.
-
@alerque @frameworkcomputer I indeed was talking about their products in general.
@Natanox @alerque @frameworkcomputer The ram thing on the desktop was to achieve high speeds for AI workloads, there just wasn't a way to do it with unsoldered ram. Their laptops have all always had removable RAM.
