this week's opinion. mac OS is nowhere near as good as IOS and iPad OS, at least for me and my personal experience having seen it and tried and trust me, I do mean tried and epically failed. If Mac came with those 2 operating systems instead of their own software, #Blind people would be way better off because who doesn't know how to use an iPhone or iPad these days? I'm not saying that all blind people know how to use it, just that a large amount go for Apple and windows instead of Android for a reason.

@NicksWorld I got the chance to use it a few times in high school on the school computers. It wasn't nearly as good as Windows. Voiceover is far more complex to use than either Jaws or NVDA.

@NicksWorld a lot dont' try android as they keep hearing the doom and gloom of it from years ago. Android now is not like it was.

@NicksWorld Yes. It was one of the big all-in-one devices. It was a bit larger than the average monitor and boxy in back. I think it was an iMac.

@NicksWorld With respect, I disagree. OSX is an excellent OS. VO on OSX is garbage. OSX itself works very well for the normal user, and indeed usually works far better than Windows. The problem is only for blind users, who have all their experience of the OS filtered through VO. Vo on IOS is quite bad, but is still far better than VO on OSX, which is why we, as blind people, generally see it as a mess.

@NicksWorld VO on the Mac and iOS share very little except their name, I'm afraid. To judge VO on OSX, you've got to use OSX, sadly. Lots of people have found this out the hard way. VO on iOS could be allot worse, so they say "let's buy a Mac", I can more or less use VO on iOS, surely the thing going by the same name on the Mac is the same? In fact, it's not even close.

@SapphireRose91 I've seen my brother try to use the thing, and he defaults to windows because it works better like, it takes 3 hours to do something for him that would literally take 2 minutes with windows. this is why I'm saying iPadOS and IOS and not MacOS are far superior.

@techsinger iPads and iPhones have simpler interfaces which is great because Mac just carries so much unnecessary stuff.

@ratking @SapphireRose91 Yeah, but you can't just pick up a mac first day and begin to use it. I can pick up an iPad and just know how to use it, no changes at all and no complicated menus or tables, both of which I've seen with Mac.

@NicksWorld @ratking Yes, you can. There's a voice over tutorial for a reason, and that's not true of iOS either. When I got my first iPhone in 2011 it took me longer than a day to use it properly. I wasn't even what one would call competent until almost a month later.
