I think I've read about it somewhere and that it has something to do with federation between instances or maybe something called "pull requests" which brings information over from one side of the fediverse to the other, but it was all tech talk, which I don't understand. I guess we'll just have to read new books!

Hi all! I'm new to fediverse and social media. The blinking ads and reels slammed at my face overwhelmed me and pushed me away when I first tried to enter this realm.
For this first post, I've attached a close-up of my carpet. I got bullied when I posted carpet close-ups when I joined Instagram over 10 years ago as a kid. So I guess I'm kind of trying to close the circle so I can start something new. Long live carpets!

Oh cool! I get to post this one! Several years ago my hubs bought me a set of socks for Christmas. I decided they each matched our carpet and documented it.

@kirjorastas I've never seen "blinking ads and reels" here but floors are not unusual. I don't know which account it is but someone regularly posts photos of floor surfaces at different airports. So carry on in good health!

@kirjorastas I've never seen "blinking ads and reels" here but floors are not unusual. I don't know which account it is but someone regularly posts photos of floor surfaces at different airports. So carry on in good health!
@Axomamma @kirjorastas No blinking ads, but some people do post short videos of people talking instead of writing text. Which has an instagram feel to it for me. I don't enjoy that so I have media autoplay deactivated, gif autoplay deactivated, plus all media hidden by default, so I can choose what I want to see. We have a German Hashtag for waiting room floors, but they never have carpets. Why don't we have something for carpets yet?

@kirjorastas nice carpet. Not too fussy. I can't reciprocate I'm afraid, because we have no carpets on the boat but that's a nice gentle one.
