<![CDATA[Hi all!]]>Hi all! I'm new to fediverse and social media. The blinking ads and reels slammed at my face overwhelmed me and pushed me away when I first tried to enter this realm.

For this first post, I've attached a close-up of my carpet. I got bullied when I posted carpet close-ups when I joined Instagram over 10 years ago as a kid. So I guess I'm kind of trying to close the circle so I can start something new. Long live carpets!

Which has an instagram feel to it for me. I don't enjoy that so I have media autoplay deactivated, gif autoplay deactivated, plus all media hidden by default, so I can choose what I want to see. We have a German Hashtag for waiting room floors, but they never have carpets. Why don't we have something for carpets yet?

I think I've read about it somewhere and that it has something to do with federation between instances or maybe something called "pull requests" which brings information over from one side of the fediverse to the other, but it was all tech talk, which I don't understand.
