@Geri Who made those complaints? People who object to fake history. The word "Palestine" was used by Roman (European) imperialists for what was left over after their genocide in Israel/Judea. There is no evidence of prior use.

And so the British Museum has decided to remove that word.
Who do you think made those complaints?
I will be writing to the Museum.
I hope others will too.
It isn't the most effective action, but for many it is feasible, and it will let them know that this won't slide without us knowing their complicity.

@Geri Labour Friends of Israel, and other similar organisations, I have no doubt. They may as well get rid of the entire Bible at this rate - why would any deity be encouraging the people to flee, or to fight when there’s no opponent?

The word "Palestine" appears once in the King James translation of the Bible, but is not found in other translations. So you don't have to worry. It was a European (Roman) term. -

I would have thought that the name "Farage" would have caused something alike.
What is this obsession? Instead of defending an unstable description of ideas about Palestine and recognizing actual facts they seem to put much effort into useless scaffolding to support the feverish Palestine aversion?

Also, European gentiles called European Jews "Palestinians" after the middle ages. Trying to rewrite history is Orwellian.

If the museum wanted to change the names, they would normally do this through a scholarly and consultantive open process.
Not because a nasty evil group like the UKLFI bullied them to do it.
That sets a dangerous precedent.

@HarriettMB @Geri This has nothing to do with religion but only with historical accuracy. "Palestine" was a Roman word for Judea. It had nothing to with with modern Palestinians and, in fact, European gentiles used to call Jews in Europe "Palestinians" until they murdered most of them.
