The British Museum has removed the word #Palestine from displays about the ancient Middle East following complaints.
Maps and information boards about ancient Egypt and the seafaring Phoenicians labelled the eastern coast of the Mediterranean as Palestine, and some peoples were described as being “of Palestinian descent”
And so the British Museum has decided to remove that word.
Who do you think made those complaints?
@Geri Hmmm
hard to say

@Geri I’ve never visited The Museum before. But now The Museum has done this I’ll make sure I don’t visit The Museum. I’ve decided though to rename The Museum to The Museum since the other word The Museum had in its title referred to a nation guilty of global mass murder. How terrible The Museum has removed references to Palestine.

@Geri Palestine is not a word that can be erased; Palestine is history, land, and our steadfastness.

Rowing home to haven in sunny REDACTED,
With a cargo of ivory,
And apes and peacocks,
Sandalwood, cedarwood, and sweet white wine."
Afraid of a word, they are. I honestly despair. -

@Geri Labour Friends of Israel, and other similar organisations, I have no doubt. They may as well get rid of the entire Bible at this rate - why would any deity be encouraging the people to flee, or to fight when there’s no opponent?
This is appalling, and the Museum should be boycotted forthwith. So much of the treasures and items there belong to other civilisations and other countries and they should be returned forthwith. -

@Geri Who made those complaints? People who object to fake history. The word "Palestine" was used by Roman (European) imperialists for what was left over after their genocide in Israel/Judea. There is no evidence of prior use.

I will be writing to the Museum.
I hope others will too.
It isn't the most effective action, but for many it is feasible, and it will let them know that this won't slide without us knowing their complicity.

The word "Palestine" appears once in the King James translation of the Bible, but is not found in other translations. So you don't have to worry. It was a European (Roman) term. -
@charlesdelavalleepoussin @Geri For Europeans, conspiracy stories about Jews are like putting on an old comfortable pair of shoes.

@Geri Starmer is a self confessed Zionist. Whilst he probably has no authority to directly effect the change, he sure as hell has the influence. It’s a disgraceful thing to do.
