This is inevitable. Governments of countries that want more fuel than they produce will eventually do anything to get it. Europe – consuming 5 to 6x more than it produces – will not ignore what the warmongering fossil fuel bear over the hedge offers.
If you don’t like it, then stop flying and cut down on driving as much as you can. There are other good reasons to do that anyway
