your brain after rotting from being extremely online:

“I think caring about screen time is stupid. It's a waste of mental energy. I actually think this whole moral panic over screen time is going to be gone in 10 years, because everything's going to be integrated into the world around us already.”

the movement to stop letting tech cause people stress and anxiety is actually what’s causing people stress and anxiety

the delusion of someone who desperately needs to touch grass

@parismarx She's basically just on the "230 is holy text" train, right? Or are there other regulations she "rails against"?

@tante basically yes, a position she’s adopted in the past few years. she came out against the ruling in california the other day, saying it was just another way to attack content and free speech etc etc

@parismarx Apparently "Getting an MRI is the real cause of cancer" is a popular vibe in tech these days.

@parismarx all I can hear is "Let people have nice things! If a rational actor wants go into crippling debt by gambling away all their savings, we should let them. In fact, we should encourage it. It's just human nature!" (I've read Addiction By Design recently, and boy, is there a very clear pipeline from gambling machine design to Big Tech!)

@parismarx “because I hate the silence of downtown LA” is a hell of dependent clause in any context, but this particular one “I also like to listen to background noise all day” is a doozy. So much to unpack there, but I think I would rather leave that in its box where it can be contained safely.
