I just DO NOT understand what the big deal is with this Angine De Poitrine band.

The hype and internet worship is completely disproportionate to the actual music.

The costumes and tomfoolery are super gimmicky and beyond novelty, and MANY artists in the past have done the microtonal thing far more successfully.

I hear them, and all I get out it is a huge fucking headache.

I respect the musicianship.
But the music they make with their talents I will never be able to respect or take seriously.

Maybe if I was 20 years old and on acid, I could enjoy them live.
But nah, man.
No thanks.

If I want serious microtonal music I can listen to Penderecki or Harry Partch’s The World Of Harry Partch, and not have to look at assholes dressed in polka dot costumes.
Even King Gizzard would be better.

I suppose in the current climate of the world, where people don’t care about human connection to things, and have ZERO attention span, they’re the perfect band.
