@Robavince
Wow. I have never heard of Namco, Midway or Capcom before.

Born in 69, grew up with Commodore 64 and Atari in the 80s. Loved Pacman, Space invaders and so on.

I def reached for Atari first, but had to pull it back bc "legendary" is soiled by their current reputation.. -

@ruedi I love Pac-Man too! (That is a Namco game). The question is asking which company comes to mind. I see how it could also be read as which game!

European guy speaking.
I'd totally trade this Midway shit for Taito or Konami.
Even the golden age Atari Americans love so much looks pretty weak compared to my all-time favorite SEGA. -

I still can't get over what SEGA became... Talk about being a hollow shell of what they once were... They live today off of selling their old games over and over on every new platform that comes out. The few new things they do themselves are pitiful, but really they're mostly just a publisher. They probably make the most money from Nintendo...
Some of the best names from back then I almost feel would have been better off if they had passed into obscurity dying quietly so those who remembered them at least could remember them fondly.

@Robavince
Maybe Namco and the other names just weren't so well-known here in Germany.For me it was an Atari game cause I played it on that console.
And as far as the C 64 is concerned that could have been more of a European thing. Not sure.

Kind of surprised that Namco (Pac-Man, SoulCalibur) is performing so poorly!

@Robavince Konami, but I'm remembering them for arcade-like games released for home consoles or computers as opposed to arcade equipment.
