When they say school prepares you for life, you'd think group work assignments for example are lessons about working with other people. From what I personally learned was often that dread of being randomly assigned with someone and then having to work with a person whose work morale differs a lot from mine.

Strong detestment of such things followed me to work life, especially when I started my own company 8 years ago. I absolutely thrive in an environment where I'm in control of all the variables, being able to balance work-free time life and put my full focus on a project from start to finish, then take a week off and do my own things.

What really however wears me down are co-op projects where I have to deal with customer's other suppliers, often integrating what I've done into their services. Dealing with some companies is like pulling teeth. We may have a meeting where everything is agreed, then they just ghost me. It's agreed that I send sample data and they'll give feedback on it, but they never do. When prodded, they'll say they will get back to me. The next contact I get is an angry call from the customer two weeks later asking why nothing's happening. #rant
