@samir @revk @jwildeboer Considering the hobbies I have/had, every one. “Yep, survived that one!”

@thirstybear @revk @jwildeboer I like to celebrate my birthday by going snowboarding. Kind of like a dare. 😜

Age verification for the services I run? Solved. I look in my passport, verify that I am 18 years or older, look in the mirror to check that it is really me and after that I install Yet Another Service on my server to become less dependent on big tech 🙂

@inonkp At home? DSL from Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone on my mobile phone. For my servers? OVH and Netcup. Though I am not sure why that is relevant here?

@jwildeboer I'd go so far as to say that if you are willing to put in the work to self-host, I don't care how old you are.

@jwildeboer if you have to look in your passport to verify your age, you're definitely over 30.

As a self-hoster, my solution is even easier: I just manually OCR (with my own two eyes) the scan of my ID card I have on one of my folders (which I need for some government paperwork) and bam, confirmed 😉

@inonkp A bunch of the services I run are for personal use only, so they run on my homelab and are deliberately disconnected from the internet. I can only use them when I am physically at home. Digital sovereignty 😉
