Age verification for the services I run? Solved. I look in my passport, verify that I am 18 years or older, look in the mirror to check that it is really me and after that I install Yet Another Service on my server to become less dependent on big tech
@jwildeboer I also check the first time I started using Linux.
That was in 2007 when I bought an eeePC online.
So I must be at least 19 years old.
I have the original linux OS on my first eeePC 701 as proof.
Works for me as an age check.

@inonkp At home? DSL from Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone on my mobile phone. For my servers? OVH and Netcup. Though I am not sure why that is relevant here?

@jwildeboer I'd go so far as to say that if you are willing to put in the work to self-host, I don't care how old you are.

@jwildeboer if you have to look in your passport to verify your age, you're definitely over 30.

As a self-hoster, my solution is even easier: I just manually OCR (with my own two eyes) the scan of my ID card I have on one of my folders (which I need for some government paperwork) and bam, confirmed
