    @Vivaldi
    Get your Browser into f-droid, Uptodown seems shady and is full of ads.

    Host an own repo if you don't want to be in the main repo, or ask @IzzyOnDroid

        @anderslund so is IzzyOnDroid. But yes, we'd recommend @Vivaldi applying to F-Droid, if all their source is openly available under a F/LOSS license (as their APK size would be beyond our limits at IzzyOnDroid). Otherwise, hosting your own repo is no "rocket science" either 😉 Reach out to me should you need help with that, Vivaldi. @lebochequirit

          @Vivaldi Hey, random question, can I sign into a Google workspace account on Vivaldi like I can with chrome?

          I don't want to use chrome, but I do need to sign into all my Google Workspace apps for work...

                @Vivaldi No offense, but this post actually breaks the official Mastodon client on iOS. Really annoying.

                I think something about how it does link previews combined with the way you wrote the post on your website resulted in this outcome?

                        F-droid the website, yes. But the option to host your own f-droid repository is open to companies like Vivaldi as well.

                          @leeloo @lebochequirit @Vivaldi @IzzyOnDroid Also for closed-source apps?? That is kinda disheartening, although a user of course decide which external repos to install.

                            An f-droid repo is basically a list of APKs - plus some signing stuff. There is no way it could differentiate between closed and open source (at least as long as whoever is building the repo has the code).

                                      • Manifest V2 extensions won't work but Manifest V3 AI extensions will "Because Vivaldi is built using the Chromium web browser project, extensions available in the Chrome Web Store can also be installed in Vivaldi."

                                      • if liked the Big Tech browser engine Chromium used by Chrome, Vivaldi, Edge, Brave, etc... that would be okay but I am de-googling so no Google Chromium based Vivaldi for me.

                                      • if liked tabs, I guess Vivaldi would be cool, but I absolutely cannot stand tabs.

                                        @Vivaldi Really thinking about switching to Vivaldi now as this is a feature I wanted for years already.. But I dont really want to give Google a complete monopoly on their rendering engine 😞

                                          So, Vivaldi is not for you. But the , why are you commenting? Find a browser that is for you, and go comment on there instead.
