@BoneHouseWasps @0xf0 awesome which distro did you go with?
yes linux is a learning curve but dont let that scare you away. once you figure out how everything works it will be your new home. i switched to linux in late 2022 and ti was the best thing i ever did for my tech life. yes i had some headaches with it in the first few weeks but slowly i adapted to it and now i love linux. wishing you the best in your linux journey man

@AestheticFemboy @0xf0 Mint. It was nice and easy to get installed and started but I'm struggling to get things working as I'd like. I need to spend more time with it, really.

@BoneHouseWasps @0xf0 take it slow and look up guides and how to when it comes to starting on linux. the web and how to guides is your best friend for sure when it comes to getting used and learning how things go on linux. best of luck to ya

@AestheticFemboy @0xf0 Thank you. There are parts of it I absolutely love. It's very much like the golden age of computing for me. No ads, no AI, everything where it should be. I just need my mouse to move a bit faster and for Blender to stop crashing and I'll be happy.

Go get it. Use it. If possible: support it too.
Libreoffice Impress easily handles makin' slide decks for my presos.
The 'view notes' tab choice is especially good. Figuring out how to print out the slides with the notes took me a minute, but man is it handy.

Unless you have some work requirement to use Microsoft, LibreOffice is all you ever need.

@0xf0 I'm a bit worried about taking any further updates to LibreOffice after the update to 26.2.2 didn't work. After several hours messing around I was able to downgrade back to 25.8.6 and make it work again (it didn't the first few times), so you can see why I'm reluctant to repeat the experience.

@0xf0 Yo lo utilizó para absolutamente todo, desde que lo descubrí, Office se volvió obsoleto para mí. Incluso tiene un paquete para bancos de datos... La verdad es una maravilla

@0xf0 We use it even though my Proton can't read it and I have to download and convert everything the fam sends me.

@0xf0 great statement. I would add that, most importantly, teachers need to switch to LibreOffice.
