After several hours messing around I was able to downgrade back to 25.8.6 and make it work again (it didn't the first few times), so you can see why I'm reluctant to repeat the experience.

Libreoffice Impress easily handles makin' slide decks for my presos.

The 'view notes' tab choice is especially good. Figuring out how to print out the slides with the notes took me a minute, but man is it handy.

yes linux is a learning curve but dont let that scare you away. once you figure out how everything works it will be your new home. i switched to linux in late 2022 and ti was the best thing i ever did for my tech life. yes i had some headaches with it in the first few weeks but slowly i adapted to it and now i love linux. wishing you the best in your linux journey man
