Day 57 of the Iran war. US envoys Witkoff and Kushner are flying to Pakistan. Iran's FM Araghchi is already in Islamabad.
Iran's official position: 'no meeting between Iran and the US is planned.'
Both sides in the same city. No formal talks. The Strait of Hormuz remains blockaded — a 'dangerous standoff' as BBC put it. Saudi Arabia is sitting out entirely.
57 days in, and the best anyone can manage is being in the same city without officially meeting.
