    i love when aliexpress sellers pull shit like this, it's the funniest ever

    Purchase Instructions: Due to product upgrades, the versions sent out will include both the old and new versions. The version cannot be specified. Please understand. Different versions cannot be used as a reason for a refund.

    Please understand

    @whitequark huh, we're normally somewhat desensitized to ESLisms, but we were curious enough once you've mentioned it and..... this is english's fault, as far as we can tell!

    doing a reverse machine translation yields a rather directly-corresponding "请理解" which *is* literally "[please] [understand/comprehend]" but would idiomatically be "please be understanding"

    because the copula in english is weird!

        @whitequark unless you're talking about the principle of the thing, in which case that just feels like typical aliexpress

            @whitequark what's the deal here? They can't be bothered sorting the inventory, or they don't want to be stuck with the version people don't want so divvy them out pseudo-randomly?

            @wezm @whitequark that, probably mostly the former, with the additional wrinkle that the packaging may not label them differently and they don't want to send opened boxes either.

                    @r it's a stark contrast to western retailers like amazon that bend over three times for any customer request no matter how stupid

                      @sen there are some motherboards where you have to choose between more NVME or more SATA, yeah

                      @whitequark @sen The worst part is when they have both, but you lose 2 SATA if you populate the NVME. ;n;
