Now I’m thinking about self-hosting a notes app to replace Apple Notes/Google Keep.

I've been meaning to give Markor a try, but related to try might be Bookstack - more of a OneNote/Evernote replacement.

For desktop browser, I love Bookstack, the diagrams.net (draw.io) editor built in is so good.

@voiceofunreason I've tried to replace my notes with several free applications. Joplin, Logseq, Anytype, jtx Board, Silverbullet, Siyuan, MediaWiki, DokuWiki and BookStack.

I finally chose Obsidian, despite being not OpenSource and despite prefering OpenSource.

@voiceofunreason it might be excessive (as you can use it for other things than just notes), but check out owncloud / @nextcloud . I use owncloud and an old and simple android app called "myownnotes", but I think native/better apps are available now. They support webdav, so any note taking, webdav-compatible app might do.
