      @fj why not let people decide if they want such a large vehicle or not?

      @reloadedhead @fj Because they endanger others, use way more space and it also encourages driving like pricks.
      Or is it just making pricks more visible?

        @fj I moved to Austin, Texas 10 years ago from the NYC metro area. Seeing these trucks on the road is *still* a sight to behold. Just ridiculous.

          @fj Pet peeve: when you make sharepics for a good cause, don't compare apples to oranges. Point in case: I don't know about US cars, but I am sure the small Renault Twingo in that size ended production in 2007, the current model is somewhat wider and longer.

            @fj I sometimes see the Ford Ranger, which is a "small" pickup per US standards and it's already ridiculously large. I hope we never see those monstrosities here.

            But UVDL will UVDL and she might cave to them

                    @reloadedhead If you absolutely want to be an asshole, you can *have* such a vehicle alright. Drive it on your own lot, no problem. Public space is public, so the public makes the rules. We don't let people decide whether they want to take a dump in front of your doorstep or not either.

                          @fj Ok ik American trucks are massive, but could you atleast have used a graphic that actually compares trucks and not the smallest form factor style car against a vehicle that *has* to be large enough to haul stuff.

                            @fj You can’t even get a capable small truck in the US anymore. Tacomas are as big as Tundras used to be. It’s ridiculous. The hoods are so tall they suck for off-roading visibility. You lose the trail in front of you going uphill.

                                    @fj they wouldn't fit.

                                    On the roads, in the car parks, in the garages.

                                    They're a monument to waste

                                      FWIW, the truck in the comparison with the Twingo is an F350.

                                          @fj why not let people decide if they want such a large vehicle or not?
