    Hey #miniaturepainting peeps!
    I may have a garage in my future. That means.... a compressor!
    I have vouchers for a very few websites, and am limited to what they have in stock.

    What do you think of the Sparmax Arism AC66 HX?
    Or Prince-August AC04?

      @madcollector I have no idea what you're talking about, but I wouldn't trust anything called "Prince August". πŸ˜‚

          @madcollector I couldn't find (I'm tired, just home, and have to get up at 6 again) if the sparmax has a pressure tank, but at that price point I think it does. Prince August looks like a dud. Nice leds and all, but if the pressure hose is the only reservoir to the thing, you'll want an upgrade after some while anyway.

              @madcollector nope sparmax is better but doesn't seem to have a tank. What you'll ideally want is a 165 psi miniature compressor suitable for needles 0.2-1.0mm with tank. Idk, have your contacts got the Fengda AS-600 in store?

                @madcollector

                If it looks like this, it is worth spending money on. If it does not, it is not. This is as good as it gets, and a ton of brands sell this exact same compressor, all made by the same factories in China.

                    @NinjaDebugger Thanks!
                    I'll pass and keep brushing then. Tankless is the only range si can get "for free" with my vouchers

                      @NinjaDebugger oh wait, I used another keyword to look for online shops and it looks like I can get compressor just like the one you're recommending.
                      Is 4 bars and 1 cylinder enough, or should I aim for 6 bars and 2 cylinders?

                        @madcollector @NinjaDebugger idk what you'd want with 2 cylinders TBF. You're not going to spray paint that much unless you plan on putting on a splitter and airbrushing with two people - and then I'd STILL expect you to be able to do give with one cylinder!

                            One cylinder is fine, what you lose out on is mostly endurance and steadiness, which isn't strictly necessary for most of what you'll be doing with an airbrush on miniatures. If you're going to go hardcore, you'll end up upgrading, most likely, but for your basic "I'm going to prime, zenithal, varnish, and basecoat with the airbrush" almost any compressor will do. I still use a cheap portable compressor from a cake decorating kit.

                              @NinjaDebugger @madcollector painting by airbrush with a pressure tank is a fkn upgrade I've made that was totes worth it. With a decent airbrush tool there's so much detail you can paint so fast!

                                Believe me, I have considered getting one quite often, and it's sitting on my wishlist at a mere $85, but also I have just given up my painting room for Reasons(TM) and spent five months unemployed and IT WOULD BE REALLY NICE IF SHIT WOULD STOP HAPPENING FOR JUST A FEW GODDAMN DAYS.
