      @sean_ae @changterhune How did we make it this far without a reference to The Phantom from 'Inland Empire'?

        @Cognessence @changterhune if they made it now he'd need to have a whole lamp in there

          @sean_ae @changterhune 🤣

          I like how the main dude's ketchup stain in this scene kind of becomes a light (after this iirc)

            @sean_ae always thought that block cellular automata patterns could make a nice lamp, with thick semi-translucent acrylic or glass. I really should take steps towards actually making something like this, and/or using these patterns for things like furnishing fabrics, ties or socks.

                @sean_ae pyramid's a nice idea. did some things with pyramid shapes based on 2D CAs - actually built this one in Lego for my MA, with around 8,000 bricks

                    @HAPPENINGHOTDOG @sean_ae (it's his nipples. It's a well-known fact that Jesus loves to have his nipples touched.)

                        @sean_ae @changterhune I'm so glad you said that. While it's true I remembered the camera zooming into his ketchup stain and there being a light there, after watching it I also just wanted to post it because it's an amazing scene.

                        The facial expressions, the eyes, the guy suddenly violently wanting his hammer, the request for toilet paper, the switch to the cold-stared-but-sincere statements about the circus and having a way with animals, the synth chords, the way they're mixed a little loud against the voices - it's genius. I've ruined it by poor analysis / just a literal stating of some events that happened in it probably lol, but yeah...any excuse to wax lyrical. 😄

                          @sean_ae could just be a psycho & do the single bulb on a lamp stand/hanging from the ceiling.
