Just that we've got a tough job of balancing on a thin tight-rope by ensuring people can freely express themselves, however without that being at the expense of the approachability of the instance.

You aren't in trouble at all, just wanted to inform you of the culture we are looking to cultivate here.

We are by no means a big community yet and we would love to grow and have more active members.
The analogy i could make is, You wouldn't go to a town square and scream Nigger at the top of your lungs to a room full of strangers that is very immature in my honest opinion.
Please keep the community you are part of in mind when you go round saying things like that because it could harm our community.
This is a place where people from all walks of life can congregate we have natsoc but even transgenders are here, We differ from other communities in that we are not one or the other and that is a careful balance we try to maintain, coming back to the policy document that was mentioned before

I also haven't directly called anybody a nigger here, I have only used the gamer word in exactly the context you're speaking of. If it's the frequency of which I am using it, then I am afraid we may be coming to an impasse. -

Keeping our communication polite and PG-13 is the small price we pay for visibility and reach. Otherwise, we risk becoming another containment zone like poa.st.

Optics is a game you cannot win at, you can only lose if you play.Part of our mission statement for the instance is to allow our users to exercise the full range of their speech and expression with the stipulation that expletives aren't made common place. This is strike a balance between our autonomy and anti-censorship while keeping a good rapport with other instances and their operators.
I'm empathetic to your circumstances however as I have found myself in the same position on numerous occasions. Provided the frequent use of slurs isn't a deal breaker for you, you are more than welcome stick around with us on the instance.

We moderate on a case by case basis and if half the fediverse blocks us but we can still provide a home for people regardless of their affiliation or walk of life then so be it
