Has anyone else noticed that Mastodon search has been broken since March 24?

@mastodonmigration @MastodonEngineering Actually, yes. Search had been effed up for a long time. Thought it was my old app or my desktop browser.

It worked fine here until March 24. Now the most recent results returned are from that date. Nothing more recent. Hashtag search still seems to work as normal.

@mastodonmigration @MastodonEngineering For me, search just works for hashtags. Otherwise I just get three results

Oh, normal is three results. If you then press Posts you see a whole scrollable list.

This still happens, but the most recent posts returned are from March 24, 2026.

If you try to modify the search to search only those post after:2026-03-24 you get no results.

@mastodonmigration hmmm I think that would be an issue with your instance. Can you contact your moderators or admin?

Maybe they updated or made a change on that date that affected search (for your instance).

@mastodonmigration Thanks for pinging us. We had an disk space issue on the search system and were missing monitoring for it so we did not notice.
It's now fixed and indexing is catching up.
