My version. I have the last 400 words to write on a final exam paper. It has to be handed in on Tuesday. Realistically, I have to finish it today, to allow time for review, final edit, and fixing the references. How long have I spent on Mastodon this morning? Really, I have to go.

Done. I now have the joy over the next two days of realising that the essay is a fœtid heap of dingo's kidneys but knowing it's too late to change anything substantial. At least it will be over. There's no pleasure in writing except having done it, and then it's better not to think too much about what you've written.
