@itsfoss someday if they manage to get the fingerprint reader to work, I meant finally make the switch to Linux on my MacBook Air M1.
Currently my PC laptop is running Linux (MX Linux). It’d be nice to have both my laptops much more under my control.

@guinnessduck @itsfoss Is it that important, the fingerprint reader? Never use it on linux b4, so dunno if its super helpful or not (dunno if it can be use as on mac I mean)

@mikeTesteLinuxQlub @itsfoss in the grand scheme of things it’s not important. But since I already have one laptop running Linux, I don’t want to put it on my other one until I can take full advantage of every feature. For me the fingerprint reader is a nice convenience.
I’ve been a Mac user since about 1984. Shifting fully off it is a long, slow process for me.

@guinnessduck @itsfoss Personally, each time I've use a mac and their fingerprint reader, I got some trouble, maybe last version is better. (not normal when you reboot you can't use it, maybe an option...) When Linux will do it, it will be better, 99% sure of that
Fortunately, don't have to use it everyday, I'm just the IT guy of the family who debug laptop problem. -
