So after a price change at my acrylic supplier i discover that A3 acrylic sheet is the same price per sheet as A4 acrylic sheet.

So I've made a jig for scoring and snapping acrylic, reliably and accurately.
So far the score* is 25 sheets cut, not one cracked. Very happy...
* pun intended

@Extelec The rumours about you being unhinged are clearly answered by these photos!

@Extelec Nice! I also learned that acrylic cuts nicely with a circular saw, if you ever need to cut larger sheets down to size.

- Buy A3.
- Cut in half.
- Return 2 x A4 for a refund.
- Profit.

@drfootleg it does but you need a fine blade.
And a circular saw

I have also heard about putting the circular saw blade on backwards for cutting acrylic, if you don't have a special blade for it. -

@Extelec @Maker_of_Things @drfootleg that's usually my experience cutting it with a bandsaw. The cut closes up behind the blade. Cooling is a must.

Similarly, if you make the mistake of using a jigsaw, don't stop until you finish the cut and weld process, or you'll never get the blade out.DAMHIKT

Cooling … maybe a use for that Vortex Tube I bought 30 years ago!?! Am pretty sure I know where it is in the basement

High velocity compressed air might blow away the melted bits quick enough to keep the cut relatively clean.
I’ve only used the reverse the tooth angle technique with a circular blade which worked and is slow.
