    @NickSchwanck @cmconseils The problem with "voting with your dollars" as they call it is that it doesn't work when everyone does the bad things. You can refuse to go to one that does a bad thing, but then you'll just have to go to another that does...

      @cmconseils Also, let me look at the menu without having to start an order. One click. Not difficult.

              @cmconseils Luckily I don't eat out anywhere where this is the case. Do the QR codes give them your phone # or any identifying info?

                @otte_homan @lydiaconwell @cmconseils what you must never do is look online for people posting pictures from restaurants, and order fun drinks and snacks for them using the QR codes visible on the menus

                        @cmconseils The cost of a cheap inkjet printer and some no-name inks is probably less than your menu service.

                                    @Uair @NickSchwanck @cmconseils We live not in an apathetic society as one might think, but outright antipathetic.

                                    I do find it ironic that people are taught to hate the concept of laziness in any form and to apply it to anyone they see as not working hard enough, yet they're actually the ones who avoid effort — even just the bare minimum — in anything where they can fight to avoid it. (Expending more effort to avoid effort. If that isn't laziness I don't know what is.)

                                    I think the biggest problem of all is people really really do not like to think.

                                        Dear restaurant owners:
                                        We ALL hate the QR code menu.
                                        Stop.
                                        -everyone

                                        @cmconseils this is why we'd rather travel to country pubs still.

                                        The most recent pub/hotel we stayed at in Awabakal (Newcastle New South Wales Australia) still had a counter for ordering food (breakfast lunch and dinner), the pokies were out the back through the beer garden away from the rest of the venue, the sports tv's were in the front bar and the 'restaurant' side was its own seperate area too in the back bar... One of the best pub hotels we've stayed at 🙌

                                          @nazokiyoubinbou

                                          It's been my experience that the vast majority of us simply walk around looking for ever-better choices to do their thinking for them. I can count on one hand how many people I've met who actually do their own thinking. Mostly they just regurgitate calibrated phrases put out by professional persuaders.

                                          If I hear something like "Sleepy Joe" out of you, I write you off as an extension of someone else's mind and, sadly, someone who lopped off a big bit of their own humanity.
