@EdwinG Me too. I'll admit I worry that it would be more of a comfort to settlers than helpful for indigenous communities. Personally I like the idea of our representatives getting used to seeing indigenous people in the halls of power, even if it begins as symbolic. The networking potential is real, though, if a faithful indigenous advocate is chosen

@EdwinG Mary Simon was the only indigenous GG so far, right? That would be nicely symbolic if the head of state position was set aside for only First Nations reps. I'd get behind that also.
