@CAWguy @javensbukan I think I would not take call or rather hang up and walk into the branch to tell them what I think about that. I was honestly expecting it to be Loblaws or Canadian tire maybe. Not a real bank. Sheesh

@Bowreality @CAWguy Yeah I'm calling them back now to be like WTF actually was that?! That is not cool.

@CAWguy Yeah I'm actually pretty upset.

I do not trust them now at all. It is a real product - I checked but holy hell, do not try and sell me additional identity theft protection WITH AN AI CHATBOT.

      JFC.

@javensbukan @CAWguy I had a discussion with an (human) agent last year. They kept pushing that “record your voice to authenticate next time” and I told him to get lost. He asked why and I told him I don’t want my voice recorded and definitely not them relying on using my potentially deepfaked voice to authenticate. He was mocking me the whole call about my “tin hat”. I should have logged a complain right then. Now I regret that even more.

@javensbukan @CAWguy Also tell them these stunts are super dangerous. They are just asking scammers to copy and steal access.

@Bowreality I didn’t think it would be Loblaws. Judging by their latest data breach, they haven’t even bothered to contact any customers to tell them that their Optimum accounts have been logged out and their phone wallet cards inactivated too. So much fun watching store staff scramble with everyone’s ‘broken’ cards. 😡

@Bowreality Take some satisfaction in knowing that you’re ahead of the curve on privacy protection. That guy will eventually experience your well chilled Karma.

@Bowreality @CAWguy Yeah I'm talking to them right now. Whatever their findings are I want an email sent to me and I'm going to be filing a police report for possible fraud.

I can't be sure they weren't recording my voice to use with their VoiceID tech that banks use for authentication.

@CAWguy I stopped shopping there when the whole boycott thing came up two (?) years ago? I still have my account but they don’t have much info on us. Never used their pharmacy. Phew.

@CAWguy I hope he got fired. Don’t they record all calls?

@Bowreality @CAWguy I've called in and had them disable VoiceID on my account and I'll be reporting it to their fraud department.

                      Scary stuff!
