    I'm not really awake yet
    #GoodMorning #Bonjour

    Lingering effects of meds, is making it harder to get social.
    I'd be happy staring out of the window all day.

        @cub80_appleby Good morning. It's an odd feeling and coffee doesn't help much, it takes time. I took one pill at midnight. My doctor, thinks I should take 2. I asked what would happen, with two seniors alone, my wife is disabled and I'm not far from it myself, and an emergency happens? Who's going to react and who could drive?

        I've taken his two suggested but the benefit was not better, but the groggy is. I'm starting to snap out of it

              @Lstn2urmama That's just one pill last night. I tried the 2 and got no benefit. If it made me sleep longer, that would be great but the don't, they barely break the 4 hour cycle but mess up the rest of the morning

                  @cub80_appleby
                  Night meds too?
                  I don't like taking pills for a few reasons. First they are prescribed too easily and you experience adverse effects while they shop for a good medication.
                  If I need to medicate to sleep, will I never sleep normally? Will this mean I can't sleep without a pill?
                  And I know this is supposed to help me but I was getting as good a result before without the pills

                      @cub80_appleby I fall asleep updating apps or downloading updates on a PC, I get bored. Listening to something interesting would keep me awake or lose the story at the wrong time.
                      In the Navy (where you can set your mind at ease ๐ŸŽถ In the Navy) I was a heavy drinker. I'd pass out to sleep. I am also ADHD, so when I am not sleeping, my mind is always active. Sometimes it's interesting stuff, I designed and built a greenhouse in my head while waiting for daylight, but sometimes it's terrible things, hardships and deaths. if I stay in bed I'll go crazy with thoughts, so I get up and stay up once I do.
                      The pills keep me from getting up and I doze back to sleep over and over. They keep the thoughts away that disrupt my sleep time. But they don't make me sleep longer.
                      It's a fishing expedition for the doctor who treats me for PTSD. He disagrees with Cannabis medications, so I have a different health care provider for that side,
                      It's been half my life like this. I'm not expecting miracle cure but I humour him

                          @cub80_appleby
                          There's a few things I already did, that I didn't need a head doctor to decide. I forget the details but there's one box breathing exercise, slow full deep breath, hold, hold hold, exhale slow completely, hold hold hold, repeat. That's calming. PTSD Hot-Cold therapy, to change your perception, like hot water bottle, ice pack, extremes of senses. Hug a warm cat. And another that involves thinking of something to go with all five senses for five seconds.

                          Smelling ice cream
                          Seeing ice cream
                          Touching cold ice cream
                          Tasting cold ice cream
                          Haring cold ice cream run off your cone and splash on your lap ๐Ÿ˜†

                          Those exercises helped me a lot, with or without the ice cream. It's more important to find a way to use all five senses, because the distraction will take the tension out of your body that has gone out of control on you.
                          Exercise. Physion in my case, but it works the body and makes it tired and you fall asleep faster.
                          The head doctor wasn't my choice. He came with the PTSD Veteran's Claim
