Day 6: This project used the neckline shape from some of my shirts, in combination with the body shape from patterns, probably the Bedrock Tee from Sew Liberated. The fabric is a bamboo knit that I bought a couple of years ago, and I cut the fabric cross-grain without noticing. However, I'm currently wearing a mockneck shirt made of very similar fabric, and I made the same mistake with that one. It wears fine, and only an obsessive sewist would stare hard enough at my shirt to notice the error. I wasn't sure what finish to use with the neckline and chose the tried and true method of using ribbing. In this case, the match is very close! There are a couple of very small puckers, but I think I'll be happy to wear this shirt. More trimming and pressing will happen, and the next step will be to sew the armscyes.

@Lizette603_23 Thanks! I didn’t do it quite the way I wanted but I think it will work for me.

What a great neckline! I have no idea where the pickers are, it looks perfectly sewn to me! You did a great job. -

It helps that I practised sewing kints quite a bit with thrifted fabrics. I'll do the armscyes today or tomorrow, but I haven't yet sewn the side seams, so that will be pretty easy, I expect. I'm taking the weekend off the project because I have multiple commitments both days, and I also have quite a cold.

I knew that. But pickers was a cute alternative.
