    We have one repository with maybe something like twelve applications. Slightly more, slightly less, honestly I lose track, but the point is that we have a single shared source and dependency tree.

    maybe learn how to do things properly instead of blaming package formats ??? imean im the first to shit on appimage but that seems like a you problem ???

      @fiore monorepos arent a big deal tbqh. if the things are, like "game engine", "map editor", "asset archive packer/extracter", "model converter" then i don't see a reason why it can't be a monorepo

        @kopper@not-brain.d.on-t.work thats not the problem , the way this is being put tho it seems like they also vendor external dependencies in their monorepo , and thats like , astrophysics professor levels of cursed development practices

          @fiore doesn't look that bad from c++ standards: gitlab.com/OpenMW/openmw/-/tree/master/extern?ref_type=heads

          like, this is the point of comparison here:
          github.com/godotengine/godot/tree/master/thirdparty

                @yew @fiore i think the deal with gamedev is that they all use c++ which actually has quite bad dynamic linking support considering templates and all. and because they don't have rust's cargo Just copying everything in the repo is the easiest way to get the job done
