@molly0xfff I have an anxiety disorder that seems to be getting slightly worse as I get older, so a little while ago I quit my stressful position as an IT administrator for an engineering firm and got a new job as... *checks notes* the chief IT Manager for a hospital.

    Uhh.

@molly0xfff completely agree. People who suffer from anxiety, for some reason, end up addicted to feeling anxious. It's a hyper-stimulation effect imo.

A concept exploited time-and-time again by the #socialnetworks. Eg. if you display signs of #bodydysmorphia on IG. You'll receive 3 times the number of posts triggering this disorder compared to someone who doesn't. This drives engagement and screen time by these users / victims.

In general terms, the name given is: #snapchatdysmorphia

@DazRunner @molly0xfff i was just thinking something along these lines last night. i need a constant stream of problems to patiently chip away at, but having unsolved problems makes me low key anxious about not knowing how exactly i'll solve them or how much time and effort it will take or if my solution is even valid

@molly0xfff yep, I picked an extroverts career and ended up in psychotherapy ten years later 😄 New career and new life now though!

@molly0xfff It would be great if they could invent an AI to do the anxiety part for you and leave you the writing

@neilk @molly0xfff an anxiety AI would have to be called Marvin. I don't make the rules.

@molly0xfff I chose to head a non-profit all by myself and suffer very similar. I can relate.
