    @griotspeak yeah. I couldn't see through his tinted windows to make eye contact or see if he could even see me, so i was proceeding cautiously. I'm glad I did because if I had just gone for it, i would have been directly in front of his car when he drove forward

      @MLE_online Ouch! I hope you're OK. I had a similar experience and it's infuriating on top of the bodily and bike damage.

        The most dangerous place to be is in front of a car on a side street as it attempts to turn onto a major street. The drivers are always paying attention to the car traffic on the road, looking for an opening they can pull into, and tuning everything else out

        @MLE_online I'm glad you're alright!

        I've been hit by cars twice - once on foot, once on my bike, not hard enough to get badly hurt either time - and they were both in that situation. Right turn slip lanes make that situation worse and IMO having a right turn slip lane in any place with sidewalks is civil engineering malpractice.

            @dragonfrog We don't have too many of those here, mainly just at freeway off ramps and on ramps. There is one though and I am always extra careful there

              @MLE_online cars are too dangerous to be allowed on roads.

                @h2onolan I stand by my opinion that cars should be limited to 5 horsepower

                  @MLE_online Oh that's good. Around here we have them on lots intersections of main roads that still aren't highways - so they'll still be on the route for lots of folks walking to school or the grocery store or whatever.
