Now for the James Comey travesty undertaken by DOJ for the 2nd (more?) time:
Oh, SFTU…
"8647" - You're indicting #JamesComey on an effing semantic argument?
Brianna Keilar/#CNN correctly pts out, it doesn't mean kill Trump. When you 86 a resto order, you don't kill the food. You rescind the order.
And it's doubtless what Comey meant: impeach & remove 47. Or 25th Amendment him.
Not to mention that just b/c "86" in common parlance is interpretted as "killing" s/thing like a resto order,

is no compelling argument, legal or otherwise.
English is an imprecise language: the same word can have diff meanings.
Like "killing" a bill - that doesn't mean killing the ppl who proposed or supported it. Or is that what you actually mean, Speaker Mike Johnson?
And this archaic reference to the origin of the term "86" as meaning "8 miles out & 6 feet deep" is not, as the #GOP spokeswoman who dredged it up, common knowledge. Never heard it myself before.
Plus that's urban myth, not its

real origin: it's more likely 1930s soda jerk lingo for "out of" or the address of a 1920s speakeasy or even electrical code.
Leave #JamesComey alone.
You're just wasting yet more taxpayer money with another in your looooong list of stupid, obviously frivolous, vindictive lawsuits.

@ginaintheburg@mastodon.world more likely to be the rhyming slang theory. 86 = nix. And to 'nix' something it tends to mean remove. "Nix the attitude, buster" "The customer wants to nix the tomato" and in some cases when referring to a person, for example, "Nix the guy in the blue shirt" wouldn't mean taking the guy in the blue shirt out back like ol' yeller... it's just like "get the guy in the blue shirt out of the way"

In this example I want to stress the tomato is simply used on a different sandwich -

BREAKING
Erin Burnett/CNN: word is that an arrest warrant has been issued for James Comey.
Un-effing real. What a travesty of justice. Esp, as Erin Burnett points out, during the Biden administration, "8646" was a #GOP thing, even appearing on tshirts & hats still for sale on Amazon.
Y'all gonna arrest & prosecute those folks for calling for Biden's assassination?
Still waiting...

@ginaintheburg
Now we’re going to have 4-6 weeks of nonstop Comey reporting & punditry before the DOJ is once again proven to be stupid, feckless, & ignorant of the Constitution and laws, and ends the prosecution when it loses yet again before a judge or Grand Jury. Rinse and repeat.Just as 47 doesn’t under tariffs, the DOJ doesn’t seem to get the First Amendment.

Gets it. Doesn’t care because dementia-addled and whims are all being stage managed

@cynblogger
Or care. They get to plunder the US Treasury that taxpayers pay for while James Comey has to come up w/the personal funds to pay for his legal defense.It's an old legal strategy: exhaust your opponent's resources. Big fish w/deep pockets will easily be able to outlast little fish.
Comey is no little fish, tho he still doesn't have the staff or money that #DoJ does & yet will win.
As always w/Trump, the cruelty is the pt.
