@deadDuck Bearing in mind it's only a poll, the questions do a pretty good job of parsing out reasons for voting Stay or Leave and whether people expect their own lives to improve or nah and where they get their information from, but still not granular enough to answer your question.

@AlisonCreekside percentage who answer "I would leave" in a survey is not the same as percentage who would leave. Moving is complicated and expensive. You need to find work, housing, a school for your kids.

58% seems realistic as the percentage who would take at least one step - ask about a work transfer, book an apartment viewing, get an estimate from a moving company - not the percentage who would make it through all the obstacles and finish all the steps.

@dragonfrog @AlisonCreekside To be fair, what you're describing is "under normal circumstances." As in, if you didn't like who was elected premiere or something. Throw in a circumstance as drastic as having your citizenship changed or removed, as well as the opportunity of whether or not the rest of Canada would provide aid to Albertans who wanted to escape, and I think that might change otherwise "realistic" limitations.

@RowinSpeez We always used to say about polls that Men are from Mars and women are from Venus whatever the issue and regardless of class or education and that gender divide hasn't seemed to change over the decades.
Hence myriad polls from Abacus about whether women are warming up to Poilievre yet , answer - No.
I think this accounts for the strategy of having flouffy attractive women suddenly being the public face of the Trump government.

It's interesting that the UCP voters are simply not convinced by any of the obvious downsides of separation. I wonder what issue would given them pause, if any?

Angus Reid has a chart showing the percentages of respondents who either are or are not convinced by the obvious arguments to Stay or Wexit.
It's pretty shocking but then again 23 % of them say they get most of their info from Alberta Prosperity Project events.
