Today is my first official #DIDay.

Today is my first official #DIDay. I wanted to celebrate it by deleting my FB account, but I still need to do a proper backup, so this will have to wait.
But I want to join it anyway with the things I have done in the past month.
I opened an account on #Matrix and started chatting on #Element X with some friends.
I #Degoogled my phone, while waiting to buy a new #Fairphone with /e/OS (which will happen soon).
I joined @Tutanota and now I use it as main email.1/3

I deleted all my photos and files on #Google, transferred my work projects on #Nextcloud and my pictures on #Filen.
I installed #Linux with #pop!_OS on my laptop. I am not an IT person and this has been the most challenging thing I have done so far.
I am starting to integrate alternative social media and communication systems for my customers.
But mostly, I talk about Digital Independence with friends, customers, acquaintances. I talk a lot. Some of them listen to me and try new things.2/3

Watching the news right now gives me the strength to keep going, learning new stuff, and keep talking.

@avmakt it's really simple and doesn't have all the features in Nextcloud, but it's cheap and perfect for pictures! It doesn't work on my old Android phone, but it has an app for syncing that I can't wait to try

You have so many beautiful photos on Pixelfed!@borgqueen I really don't need to do complicated stuff on my laptop, so I really like it, so far. It's easy to configure and I love the store, that helps a lot with installing and upgrading software. I'll probably try a new one on the other pc, so that I can properly see the difference with the others.
Thank you for the kind words on my pictures
️ I love taking them, and Pixelfed is perfect to share my hikings and travels
