If you have a favorite (short) mom story to share on this #MothersDay I’d love to hear it. What’s something you remember that your mom did or said that you’ll always remember or makes you smile to think about? Thx!

@gedeonm My mom always made me learn how to do math the long way. On paper. With my brain.

She would take the calculator away and say, “What are you going to do when the batteries run out?”

Fast forward to senior year and I’m taking the ACT exam. Get to the math section and pull out my TI-83 Plus. It says “Recommend change of batteries, and shuts off.

I asked the proctor for some scratch paper and still did well!

@gedeonm my mom was an _excellent_ listener. Once we all got older, I remember her telling us kids something like, "I never really felt like I was helping you guys. I just listened. And I wouldn't say anything. Eventually you'd talk enough that you'd figure out your problem on your own."

@gedeonm My mom had 5 kids, a demanding husband and always worked outside the home, and yet she would always make time to take me to the library to find books to read. Books were her retreat, and she understood how important they were to a curious, often lonely kid.
