Once we all got older, I remember her telling us kids something like, "I never really felt like I was helping you guys. I just listened. And I wouldn't say anything. On paper. With my brain. </p><p>She would take the calculator away and say, “What are you going to do when the batteries run out?”</p><p>Fast forward to senior year and I’m taking the ACT exam. Get to the math section and pull out my TI-83 Plus.
