@benroyce Right. And beforehand, there were all matter of doomsday prophets giving us horror scenarios about how Orbán would somehow pull a rabbit out of thin air and make sure he'd remain in power. This only made the people of Hungary more eager to end him and his corrupt nepotism. They BELIEVED it could be done and DID IT.
The same doomsday prophecies are heard about the US midterms, not rarely from the same sources that gave us the Genocide Joe narrative.
Pay them no heed! We should note that Péter Magyar is far from a Mr. Perfect. For one, he's a staunch conservative who embraces several of Orbán's ideas and program points. However, he's not corrupt, he's not pro-Russian, he's not an autocrat. The Hungarian people know you don't get from hell to heaven in a day and that the first step in getting away from hell is to vote AGAINST hell and FOR whoever is NOT hell. That's precisely what they did, and what America DIDN'T do in November 2024.

But to have a successful strike, you have to have #ClassSolidarity

What will happen in an election with such control on the line?
Historically if they were to win it, one or more Democrats, however many as needed, will veer right, voting to block such control until it is blocked.
They will be rewarded well for this.
