    I wish healthcare workers (HCWs) were listening. #COVID19 remains a risk, and masks protect HCWs and their patients!

    STUDY: "Vaccines are more effective in preventing severe COVID-19, while non-pharmaceutical risk reduction measures (like PPE) are the most effective tools to contain the spread of SARS-CoV-2 in healthcare settings."

    Just a moment...

      @augieray

      Good morning from down under!

      Just met up with a UK friend who was visiting here. Was until recent retirement an anaesthetist in the NHS, and did many, many intubations in the early days of the pandemic.

      Talking about whether or not we would go on a cruise, I said I couldn't ever do that because of #COVID19. She said, oh that wouldn't bother me.

      We went to see a play, I wore a #N95 mask. The usher also wore a mask. No one else did. Packed house. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

        @augieray

        Thank you for saying this. πŸ™

        While I hope healthcare providers listen and hear this message, honestly I think it's just up to us, patients. And our advocates if we're lucky to have loved ones who are our advocates in healthcare settings.

        I wear a well-fitted N95 when getting care. And if anyone asks me to remove it, I say, NO.

        That one time I had to get an MRI, so I used the metal-free N95 that adheres to your face.

          @augieray

          honestly, I usually go to medical appointments alone, because I don't want to put anyone out.

          But if you can, it's good if u can bring someone with you, as your advocate!, to make your case and advocate when you can't because you're, I dunno, feeling poorly? I usually don't have that, but I did one time (my neighbor came with me, she was fierce!!), and it felt awesome to have that support.

          She was tactical, calm and fierce. She's just my random neighbor. love her!
