Earlier: one of two sulphur-crested cockatoos decide to visit the bird table. I was inside making coffee.

This little fella picks up the (empty, rain-sodden) container of bird seed and waves it at me. He sees me watching. He does so again.

I comply with his wishes, and he and his friend get a full container of dry bird seed. They spent the next hour munching away, happily.

    I'm being trained by birds. #brisbane #queensland

          Argh!
          Sulphur crested cockatoos.
If you could eat them, they'd have one redeeming quality.

            "I'm being trained by birds."

The same thing happened to my mom, but with crows. I will be talking to her on the phone and she'll say, "Oh, I have to go. The crows are here and I need to feed them."

There's certain kinds of vassalage that are kinda okay.

                1. The dog that makes you get your exercise
                2. The cat that makes you vacuum more because the hairballs & dust bunnies under the sofa are gross
                3. The guinea pig that recognizes the plastic bag sounds of lettuce
                4. Roosters who ensure you don't miss that lovely sunrise
                6. The kittens & puppies that make a shitty day vanish behind you
                7. The aquarium full of reptiles that remind you of how your former boss stared at people
