    How Israel & pro-Israel figures in Trump's administration convinced him that Iran was out to kill him on US soil.

    “I got him before he got me,” Trump said to reporters, indicating that fear of being assassinated prompted his decision to go to war.

    Pro-Israel forces exploited Trump’s fear to secure their influence over him, "keeping him on the warpath against Iran."

      @DrALJONES

      The reason is quite simple: Trump is a pedophile criminal who is being blackmailed by Israel.... Epstein was just a spy in the pay of Israel, tasked with blackmailing as many people as possible.

        Re "The reason is quite simple:"

        The issue is multifaceted. Trying to reduce a multidimensional situation to a one-dimensional cutout is counterproductive. It thereby "disappears" several crucial factors.

        That's how authoritarianism works to distract its enemies.

          I agree... but to me, this factor seems crucial in Trump's determination to go to war despite the advice of his generals and strategists

            It may be. But that's not what I was getting at.

            "The reason is quite simple" suggests there is only one reason.

            Saying "one reason may be that..." suggests one among many.

            And history enables comparison among all factors: The fact that Israel has waged a decades-long campaign to trick US presidents into attacking Iran is highly likely still relevant here.

            The link gives the history.

            Also, claiming to know something without citing actual evidence looks ...

              @DrALJONES Jee. If true, I wonder where Iran might have got the idea that going after world leaders was fair game.

                    @DrALJONES That Trump/America is the one who has normalised world leader kidnap/assassination. What's that saying as there's none so afraid of being robbed as a robber.

                      Yes. And the Americans also pretty much led the way in taking out their own leaders
