@BeyondMachines :verified: in particular the part regarding the complete access always leaves me baffled. i still remember a time when nearly all business emails had footers consisting of something like an NDA:this is confidential. if you recieved this mail in error, shoot yourself, delete the mail and burn all your computers.

@fightscore @beyondmachines1 Real AI sure, but the stochastic parrot LLMs not so much. I used to call them "machine lying" but lying requires knowledge of true and false and LLMs do not have that.

@beyondmachines1 To be fair, AI has its use, right? Maybe the business model just got to be better, maybe token count might need tweaking -- maybe put weight to something like output value, rather than input/output count.

I actually never even thought about the emergencies. When me and the rest of the team is staying at 10PM because something broke and some giant customer is upset. Stting there trying to think what could have happened. What's going on. How to fix it. How to fix it without breaking anything else...
Granted, a lot of us just say "Fuck, whatever," to that last bit. That's how I imagine AI do.

I usually like ny job.@chantaryu2 @beyondmachines1 They definitely turned it on for the reason that guy said - get people using it, screw everyone later. Atlassian was once the cheeky outsider and is now as bad as all the rest, imo. Like, in August they are going to start scraping their customers' data for AI training. They promised they wouldn't, but now they are. You can maybe opt out of some of it, but it depends on which version $$$ you're using. Enshittification at its finest.
