Weirdly, I'd say this is going to encourage newly married women to keep their maiden names.

@lisagetspolitik will it at least denaturalize citizens against their will free of charge?

@lisagetspolitik I get it! We're saving America from sensible candidates. Got it and we get mental giants like Trump. Okie-dokie.

@kkarhan maybe if they go to an US Embassy and, after the procedure, risk getting arrested for being aliens in US soil...

@lisagetspolitik@union.place this also threatens the rights of transgender people when it comes to voting.. As a transgender woman who has had her name and gender marker changed legally... I am afraid I won't be able to vote in November

Weirdly enough one of the biggest reasons I kept mine in the 80s. I knew these fuckers would try some stupid shit like this eventually.

@lisagetspolitik The irony! The USA imposed multiple fascist dictatorships around the world but was incapable of recognizing fascism rising at home. If the next elections are rigged, you have only three options: 1)The military removes Trump and his gang. 2)Civil war. 3)Learn the ‘Heil Trump’ salute.

@lisagetspolitik@jt_rebelo @lisagetspolitik worst any consulate / embassy can do is kick people out / bar them from entry / have local police upon request of the head of missing drag them out.
- I wounder what happenes to the "No taxation without representation!" thing…

@kkarhan the "no taxation without representation" thing has been gone at least since those that don't pay taxes (the rich, Epstein class, like Bezos, Altman and Musk) were the ones choosing the POTUS.
